Janet Brophey
Janet Brophey, CPA has recently joined the staff of Adult Learning Center on a part-time basis.
Her mother dropped out of high school to get married, but later earned a high school equivalency diploma. She always preached the importance of a college education. Janet graduated from UWM. She explored the city as an unemployment compensation auditor. Later, she visited many parts of the country as an auditor for Allis-Chalmers.
She and her husband Dan have a son, Chris, and a daughter, Megan. Chris is graduating from MSU Law School and Megan is at UW-Whitewater completing her work to sit for the CPA exam and raising a rambunctious 3 year old son. When Chris and Megan began school many years ago, Janet began working part-time.
The last several years have been in the non-profit world training personnel to use Peachtree software to do their own accounting, as well as having a very small general accounting and tax practice.
